A Message From The Lovers

Tarot of Quotes
"A relationship is a three-part journey:

First there's infatuation.

Then there's conflict – the part where most people jump ship.

The third part is becoming an active participant in your partner's feelings, and that's the method to the madness."

Tarot Astrology: Sun in Virgo, Full Moon in Pisces

We have come to the time of year, when the zodiac wheel has turned and the combined sun/full moon energies are repeated, just flipped over. For example, we have already experienced the Pisces/Virgo combination back in March, but then is was the Pisces sun combined with the Virgo full moon. Although it is the same mix, the energies shift.

The forthcoming full moon in Pisces on the 31 August is also the second full moon this month, a rare occurrence called a blue moon. Because it is in Pisces, it will be a powerful moon, likely to create shifts on an emotional and psychological level.

The full moon in Pisces (Moon) encourages us to be more in tune on an intuitive level with our environment and the people we engage with. We become more 'aware' without 'knowing', it can leave us unsure, but we need to learn to trust our senses for now to make wise choices.

Combined with the sun in Virgo (Hermit) we will be experiencing a positive and beneficial energy combination. Whilst the Virgo/Hermit energies encourage us to go inward to seek higher knowledge and wisdom on a more spiritual level, the Pisces/Moon energies will be a supportive influence, which can lead to a shift in our consciousness. Old patterns of beliefs, habits and attitudes may change, it can be transformational, and it will feel good!

You may find that you
  • become more understanding and caring of others rather than being quick to criticise or condemn
  • turn self-pity and resignation into willpower and enthusiasm for life
  • confront difficult situations with courage rather than fear
  • become more aware of your abilities rather than feeling insecure
  • avoid crowds of people in preference of solitude and quiet introspection

The forthcoming combination of the Virgo/Hermit sun with the Pisces/Moon full moon is one to embrace and cherish. Make sure you tune in and let its energies work some magick on your mind and spirit.

Inspiration: Belief

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumoured by many.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.

Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.

Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Zodiac Card of the Month: The Hermit

The Hermit is associated with the zodiac sign Virgo. If Virgo is either your sun or moon sign, then the Hermit is one of your zodiac cards.

As a sun sign card, the Hermit may reflect your conscious, expressive, outward, open personality; how you engage with people and the world around you.

As a moon sign card, the Hermit reflects your unconscious, hidden, blocked personality traits, instincts and emotions; you feel them within.

Personality Traits associated with the Hermit:

Positive:
adaptable, prudent, restrained, analytical, shrewd, modest, organisational skills, seeking knowledge, practical, shy, giving, meticulous

Negative:
over-critical, pedantic, fastidious, suppressing emotions, perfectionist, fussy, a worrier

Hermit/Virgo Life lessons:
  • Overcoming narrow-mindedness to nurture creativity and living a more fulfilled  life
  • The need to be of service to others to be expressed as a guide or friend, who is non-judgemental rather than controlling
  • Overcoming indecision by being more spontaneous at times
  • Being more in touch with feelings and emotions to avoid living in denial or seeming cold and distant
  • Learn to have faith in the unknown
  • Slowing down over-thinking and over-analysing to become more relaxed and trusting

The following Virgo correspondences also relate to the Hermit:

Element: Earth
Season/Timing: Late Summer (August 23 - September 21)
Ruling Planet: Mercury (also associated with the Magician and the Lovers
Stone: Peridot, Agate
Key Word: Work
Key Phrase: I Examine

Summertime...and it's Time for a Break

"The happy pills are starting to work."
It's the summer holidays, and my son keeps telling me that he's bored. Having made me feel really guilty, I have decided with a heavy heart (not really ;)) to put my beloved laptop into its box and take sonny boy out into the big world on a magical mystery tour.

I thought the Ten of Cups is a suitable image to get me into the spirit (and it's quite a cheesy one, too;)). But its astrological association with Mars in Pisces is a sure sign that happy times won't last forever, and I will be back at the end of August to launch my brand new online Tarot Astrology course and start writing for my latest venture Tarot for Business.

In the meantime, I have compiled a little reading list for you on my main website, if you want to catch up with some Tarot related posts from the archives.

See you again on the 27th August!

Inspiration: Mastering Your Feelings

It can be hard to control feelings, especially the negative ones. Feelings come and go; most often they are evoked by external factors, as reactions to events, situations and people.

Yet it is possible (and many people are unaware or find it difficult) to allow yourself to choose your feelings, embracing them in order to make them work for you more constructively.

If we CHOOSE our feelings when they come along (even the negative ones), then we can learn to master them, especially when we also realise that we are creating our own feelings - we are responsible for them - and nothing or nobody else.

I have received the following wonderful guidance by relax7.com in my inbox today and would like to share it with you. I hope it will inspire you to look at your feelings from a new perspective and help you on your healing journey, if you are plagued by negative emotions that are holding you back.

Choose Feelings

If your days seem filled with unwanted negative feelings, there is only one cure. When they come, choose them. Don't ask why, don't wonder how, don't fight them and never put yourself down for having them.

But most of all never blame someone else for how you feel. If you do, it means you are still fast asleep and your choice is to be a victim.

When the feelings come, even big disturbing emotional feelings say, "I choose this feeling" and know it comes because of something you have thought or done in the past, perhaps a certain belief that you have learned or an attachment that is threatened.

Choice does not mean you want the feelings, but it does mean you are taking responsibility for them. And that is the beginning of self mastery. It is the first step to the healing and resolving of your emotions. But only the first step.

Try this today and then ask yourself what the next step might be. If you are really interested to know, you will come to know!

A Message from the Five of Wands

Many fights are not worth fighting.

Struggling to gain attention from others is often a wasted effort.

You cannot please everyone, but that's okay.

Let go of anyone with negative attitude towards you. You don't need these people in your precious life.

And when you let go of control, anger and the need to conquer, you will find that life becomes much easier.

AffirmationI stand my ground and meet conflict with poise and dignity.

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

Pentacles - The Fruits of Harvest

Sharman Caselli Tarot Deck
If you have just arrived from Joanna's sparkling Sun Goddess Tarot blog as part of the Tarot Blog Hop series - welcome! You will find a link at the end of this post to continue your ride on the Lammas Blog Hop Train, and I hope you will enjoy each contribution to today's topic:

Pentacles - The Fruits of Harvest

On the first day of August, the Pagan community is celebrating the festival of Lammas to mark the time of the wheat harvest. But high summer offers more than just harvesting wheat; fruit and vegetables should all be plentiful at this time of year.

The suit of Pentacles represents fertility, growth, nature, sustenance and hard work, and the Nine of Pentacles is the card that speaks to me the most to mark the summer harvest this year.

The card shown here depicts a woman surrounded by an abundant crop of grapes in her garden. The castle in the background, her beautiful dress and the bird of prey on her hand symbolise her wealth and status. She is enjoying a quiet moment amongst her harvest, and perhaps for all of us, this is a time to appreciate what we have achieved so far.

The Nine of Pentacles symbolises Abundance. Now is a good time to focus on what we have rather than on what we are missing. Let us also recognise our potential and possibilities before us.

On a personal note, I have been on a journey of change since February this year. Inspirational business coaching has affected my professional work in a profound and exhilarating way, which also had a positive impact on my private life. The gradual transformation my Tarot business has undergone over the recent months is now starting to offer some rewards. My head is still buzzing with ideas, and there is still a long way to go, but now is a good time to take a deep breath and pause for some appreciation and reflection.

I have drawn three cards to give me an idea of where I am now and where my next step may lead to:

Present situation: Three of Pentacles - Next step: Page of Wands - Result: The Magician (Sharman Caselli Tarot)

I'm not intending to bore you with a lengthy interpretation of these cards. Let me show you instead my own version of the Nine of Pentacles, exclusively designed for this post:

Tarot of Quotes
The blackcurrants in my garden are ready for harvesting; this year we've got loads, and they will be turned into some yummy jam tomorrow.

Whilst searching for a suitable quote, I've come across a few, which offer us all some tips on how to achieve our goals and reap a fruitful harvest:

"We must give more in order to get more. It is the generous giving of ourselves that produces the generous harvest.”
- Orison Swett Marden

“Even after a bad harvest there must be sowing.”
- Seneca

“He that has a good harvest must be content with a few thistles”
- Spanish Proverb

“If you wait until the wind and the weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything.”
- Bible

What is your harvest like at this time of year? What is your next step to take you closer to where you want to be?

Now it's time for you to move on to Alison's wonderful Games of Thrones blog for more Lammas/harvest musings.

Before you go, you may wish to subscribe to my blog via RSS or email. It would be lovely to see you again!

Cosmic Blessings,

Christiane
